If you’re planning to travel along State Route 203 tomorrow, it’s time to recalibrate your morning plans. The Washington State Department of Transportation is gearing up for some much-needed maintenance work that’s going to close the northbound lanes in two spots. That means if you thought you could breeze through without a hitch, think again—traffic is about to become a whole lot slower!
The closure starts at milepost 11 between Duvall and Carnation from 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., and then moves to milepost 18 north of Duvall from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. So, pack that extra coffee or breakfast burrito and prepare for a potential wait. Flagger crews will be out managing the traffic flow, so expect a bit of a snarl while they do their thing; it’s hard to juggle traffic and ditch maintenance simultaneously!
Now, take a moment and think about this: how many times have you navigated a jam and wondered if there are any other routes that would bring you closer to nirvana (or just home)? With some advice from WSDOT, it sounds like avoiding this area is the best plan. Perhaps this is a great opportunity to explore alternative routes—we all need a scenic detour now and then, right?
