Q: My dog is terrified of these thunderstorms that we are having lately. What do I do?
A: We are deep into monsoon season here in northern Arizona and with our afternoon lightning storms, obviously also comes thunder. While some people can fall asleep to the sound of thunder, our canine friends can often be terrified of these loud noises. I have had clients tell me stories of their dogs hiding under beds, trying to escape out of windows and even being destructive in an attempt to escape the scary sounds from above. Here are some ways that you can help your petrified pooch during our summer storms:
