Initially announced during a capital projects update in December, the Coconino County Board of Supervisors approved a $40,000 grant from the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management.
The grant is dedicated toward the project named “Green Healing Landscapes: Building Nature into Care at the Youth Behavioral Health Center,” as it assists with enhancing the new center’s patio. Allowing for more robust landscaping, with trees providing shade to the courtyard area, the funding will assist Coconino County Health and Human Services (CCHHS) in providing a comfortable gathering area with shaded space for support group check-ins and smaller nooks to provide one-on-one reflection that can create a restorative environment.
