Coconino County will celebrate 100 Years and 100 Miles of Route 66 by unveiling a commemorative highway sign on May 1.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Old Route 66 Parks in the Pines Store (12963 E. Old Route 66 in Parks) — which has served as a stop along the route since 1906. A short ceremony, refreshments, a Route 66 selfie station and a community roadside cleanup are all part of the event.
