Father of Flagstaff shooting victim left conflicted after trial without defendant

Earlier this month, a Coconino County Superior Court jury returned a guilty verdict of manslaughter against defendant Philip Green for the fatal 2024 shooting of Dylan Carter.

For Dylan Carter’s father, LaFonzo Rachal-Carter, it was a day of mixed emotions: some satisfaction, but also frustration over the fact that Green remains out of custody after allegedly fleeing to Germany last year. Speaking to the Arizona Daily Sun on Friday, June 12, Rachal-Carter expressed his appreciation for the prosecutors who presented the case to the jury as well as his anger over the initial conditions of Green’s release from jail.
