The Flagstaff Girls Softball Little League Majors staved off elimination on Thursday by defeating Winslow Little League for the second time in the Arizona State Little League District 1 Softball Tournament, hosted in Winslow. Flagstaff opened the tournament with a 6-4 win against Winslow on Tuesday, before being sent to the losers bracket with a 7-0 loss to Page on Wednesday.
Winslow was held to just three hits with the season on the line Thursday, as Jordan Etsitty struck out 12 batters without an earned run. She only walked two of the 24 hitters she faced in the 99-pitch outing.
