After reaching the Division II state tournament for the fifth consecutive year, the No. 6-seeded Flagstaff Eagles girls tennis team had their season come to an end on Tuesday afternoon.
In a matchup with the No. 11 Nogales Apaches at Thorpe Park, Flagstaff battled through nearly three hours of singles play before losing 5-1. With a pair of doubles matches beginning as the final singles court reached a third-set tiebreaker, the Eagles looked to mount a comeback after the Apaches took the first four matches of the day.
