In collaboration with Ronin Theatre Company, the Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival will host a limited run of “The Seagull” on Aug. 14 and 15.
The second collaboration between the theatres brings Anton Chekhov’s play to the Beaver Street Theatre. “The Seagull” tells the story of artists in the Russian countryside as it follows Konstantin, a struggling playwright, and his unrequited love for Nina, a neighbor who dreams of becoming a famous actress. As detailed in the announcement by FlagShakes, “dreams, jealousy, and unrequited love collide as artists and lovers wrestle with what it means to create, and to live, for something beyond themselves.”
