Four-run first inning gives Flagstaff baseball scrappy win over Estrella Foothills

Flagstaff’s four runs scored in the first inning were all the No. 14-ranked Eagles needed to come away with a 4-1 win over the No. 12 Estrella Foothills Wolves on a senior day matinee with big postseason implications for both teams on Saturday. Flagstaff had yet another outstanding defensive showing at Eagle Field, where they are 5-0 this season.

The starting pitching was stellar on both ends, with Flagstaff senior Will Carpenter tossing a complete game and only allowing three hits in the final two innings.
