American football has come a long way in expanding its reach overseas. The National Football League now brings multiple games to Europe throughout its regular season. College football has also seen a boost from outside the United States, with players seeking ways to get noticed by coaches and further their education.
Jonas Kanyanga, one of NAU’s newest defensive linemen, worked his way through the NFL Academy in the United Kingdom to earn his way onto a college team. From a young age, Kanyanga felt like American football was a sport in which he could excel. He now looks to show the world that guys outside of the States can play.
