Flagstaff Shelter Services (FSS), the Guidance Center and Northern Arizona University (NAU) have partnered to add daily on-site behavioral health services at the shelter.
A team of licensed behavioral health professionals from the Guidance Center have been working at FSS’s location on Huntington Drive daily from 3 to 11 p.m. to assess behavioral health needs among people who are staying at the shelter and connect them with resources. This effort began this past November, with the first 18 months funded by the NARBHA Institute’s James Wurgler MD Chair of Criminal Justice and Behavioral Health at NAU.
