The Rock Canyon Fire in northern Coconino County doubled in size overnight, growing to about 1,000 acres in size by Tuesday morning, June 16.
The fire is located approximately 18 miles east of Fredonia, and just north of the burn scar left by last year’s White Sage Fire. According to the latest update on InciWeb, the fire is burning primarily on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands, but also on state and U.S. Forest Service lands. A Type 3 Incident Management Team (IMT) has been ordered.
