Update: APS confirmed on Wednesday morning that electrical power to approximately 6,000 customers in parts of Flagstaff and nearby communities has been temporarily shut off to reduce the risk of wildfire ignition. The shutoff went into effect at 9 a.m. local time and is expected to last between 12 and 24 hours, depending on weather conditions.
Damage to transmission lines or other electrical equipment may delay restoration of power if repairs are necessary.
