Carrillo carries softball legacy with championship at World Fastpitch Classic

Addisyn Carrillo, a 13-year-old Flagstaff local, can call herself something that almost no other kid her age can: a world champion.

Carrillo was a part of the U12 Team Mexico national team that won the 2026 World Fastpitch Classic in Waxahachie, Texas, in July. With the softball season beginning earlier in the year, Carrillo was eligible to play in the under-12 division. Her efforts were key in Team Mexico going 7-1 in the tournament and winning the title over Team USA on July 13, 1-0.
