The triple crown of bikepacking is a relatively new idea and riders from all over have quickly grown attached.
The trio of races — the Arizona Trail Race, the Colorado Trail Race and the Tour Divide — ask riders to complete more than 4,000 miles of all-terrain biking all on their own. A local Flagstaff kid is gearing up to complete the triple crown within a 12-month span.
Cruz Blue, 17, recently completed the 2,700-mile Tour Divide mountain bike race. Blue has raced in multiple local and national races, and will spend his senior year studying abroad with his mountain bike in New Zealand, Europe and Africa.
