I recently sat down in one of the Flagstaff breweries. One person was complaining about the price of gasoline at nearly $5. I ordered my pint and the bartender asked for $8. Got me thinking about how many thousands of people, drilling rigs, pipelines, refineries and trucks it takes to get a $5 gallon of gas to my car.
If I ordered 8 pints or a gallon of beer at this brewery, it would cost $64. GIVE ME A BREAK. We’re getting ripped off at the local breweries where it cost them between $1.50 and $2 to make a pint of beer. That’s a 300% markup. Not bad if you’re the Brewer, but bad for the customer. I guess they think we’re just plain stupid since they don’t even have to ship the beer. It’s brewed and poured in the same building with water and simple ingredients.
