The Museum of Northern Arizona has announced the student artists who will be participating in the 2026 Namingha Institute, a two-week fine art residency that takes place at the museum in Flagstaff.
Virgil Ortiz, a Chochiti Pueblo artist working in multiple mediums, will be leading this year’s Namingha Institute at the Museum of Northern Arizona.
This year’s Namingha Institute will begin April 26, and it is led by Virgil Ortiz, a Cochiti Pueblo artist, using clay, fashion design and multimedia with inspiration from “pivotal historical moments” such as the 1680 Pueblo Revolt.
The 2026 Namingha Institute will begin April 26 at the Museum of Northern Arizona.
