Coconino Community College adds men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field

Coconino Community College (CCC) will add men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field as varsity sports beginning with the 2026-27 academic year, the college announced. Both programs will compete at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I level.

The addition was made possible after the CCC District Governing Board approved the Fiscal Year 2027 budget on May 20, which included dedicated funding for the new programs. The move builds on a foundation laid in 2024, when Coconino Community College accepted a grant from the NJCAA Foundation specifically designated to support the addition of track and field.
