Grand Canyon National Park announced on Thursday that it would gradually ease water conservation measures on the South Rim beginning at 12 p.m. on Friday, April 17.
The reductions comes as progress has been made on repairing the water pipeline and pumping to the South Rim. The announcement stated that conservation efforts remain critical as the park continues to operate under “a constrained, aging, and increasingly vulnerable” water system. Additional breaks in the pipeline remain possible, with visitors and residents strongly encouraged to continue using water wisely.
