Petition challenge against Aslan fails, incumbent to remain on ballot for Flagstaff City Council primary in July

In his own words, the rumors of Austin Aslan’s political demise were greatly exaggerated in the past week.

The incumbent Flagstaff City Councilmember successfully defended himself against a legal challenge to his nominating petition by local businessman Mark Lamberson in Coconino County Superior Court on Friday afternoon, with two signatures “sufficiently rehabilitated,” in the words of Coconino County Judge Roberta McVickers.
