Letter to the Editor: Streets should work for all modes of transportation

Have you ever biked down Milton Road? Most people would answer: No, I don’t have a death wish!

Walking along Milton isn’t much better. The sidewalks are narrow and uneven, the traffic is dangerous and loud, and the whole stretch of road is exposed and sunbaked. But as unpleasant as Milton is, it’s working exactly as designed: to move as many cars as possible as fast as possible, with no concern for the safety or comfort of people outside a car.
