Coconino National Forest is offering free ponderosa pine firewood near Canyon Vista Campground approximately five miles southeast of Flagstaff along Lake Mary Road.
About 300 cords of firewood are available for valid free-use permit holders and visible from the road. The available wood includes full-length logs that are 10-14 foot long and stacked near Sandy Canyon Trailhead. Free-use firewood permits can be obtained at the Flagstaff Ranger Station or Forest Headquarters and allow up to five cords of wood per permit.
